About Me

Hi! My name is Kareena Shankta and I am the founder of the Kayasha project. I am currently a 10th grade student at Dhirubhai Amabani International School.

Before the world was shadowed by this pandemic, my time was consumed by academics and swimming. I was preparing for my board exams, so initially, the lockdown didn’t really sink in. But the onslaught of the lockdown put an end to everything. My boards were cancelled. Swimming was on an indefinite pause. I was confused and helpless.

This inflection point made me delve into the reality around me and it dawned on me that I could use my time to bring about a small change in these tough times: to alleviate the situation of those who were less fortunate. I revived a passion I had put on the back-burner for a while, and started painting. I have painted 12 canvases and am continuing to produce more.

My objective is to sell these paintings and donate all the proceeds to The Shakkar Paara Project, founded by Veenapani Aunty. Their work in Chennai, Srinagar, Jharkhand, West Bengal and other states continues to be momentous in mitigating hunger and supporting the needy during this extremely difficult period.

I urge you to buy a painting and order the ones you like because I am doing copies of my paintings. I am also painting on request. So if you would like a personalised painting, please get in touch with me!

Alternatively, if you are considering donation of any amount to support this campaign, you could do so at the same account mentioned in the Payment Guidelines.

Thank you.
